Group meal support.

Eating can feel overwhelming when you’re struggling with your relationship with food.

You don’t have to face it alone.

Meal Support with Tracey is a gentle, supportive program designed for individuals who need a safe and understanding space to practice eating. Whether meals bring up anxiety, guilt, fear, or emotional distress, this program offers calm, non-judgmental support while you work toward building a more balanced and peaceful relationship with food.

During meal support sessions, Tracey sits alongside you (virtually or in person, depending on your setup) to provide encouragement, grounding strategies, and emotional support before, during, and after eating. The focus is not on calories, weight, or “perfect” eating — it’s on helping you feel more regulated, more confident, and less alone at mealtimes.

This program can be helpful for individuals who are:

  • Recovering from disordered eating or an eating disorder

  • Experiencing high anxiety around meals or specific foods

  • Struggling with appetite changes related to stress, mood, or life transitions

  • Working toward more consistent, nourishing eating patterns

Tracey brings a compassionate, steady presence and understands that progress with food often happens in small, brave steps. Meal support is about creating a sense of safety and connection, so that eating can become less stressful and more sustainable over time.

You deserve support at the table, too.

What is group meal support at CCP?

Meal support is a 45 minute weekly meal time scheduled with Tracey our Nutrition Counsellor and anywhere between 3 and 8 other people.

This support is aimed to help individuals who are looking for:

-Practice eating in a supported, non-judgmental environment

-Reduce anxiety around meals and food decisions

-Build skills for eating socially and coping with distress

-Reinforce recovery-aligned behaviours and thinking

This group is offered to help bridge the gap from treatment to everyday life, to allow for some consistency and space to enjoy food along side people who will help to neutralize discussions around food and allow for comfortable conversation.

Nutritional rehabilitation involves eating an appropriate amount of food to meet individual health, development and activity requirements, eating a variety of foods from all food groups and responding to the body’s hunger and satiety cues. Nutritional recovery also involves eating with flexibility, eating at social functions and for enjoyment and pleasure.   The reason why someone struggles with an eating disorder is unique to them. With support from Tracey and the group you will design ideas for food and meals that are appropriate to bring to group meals. We will decide together from a list of shared ideas what works for you and the group will all have similar meals to allow for neutral discussions and a reduced potential for any unhealthy comparison around food choice. Prior to starting the group each participant will be required to have an intake call with Tracey to determine how appropriate the group is and what your goals are.
