About the event
This event will be hosted by Carly Crawford Registered Psychotherapist who has over 12 years experience speaking on topics such as Body Image, Self Esteem and Mental Health. Carly will discuss her experience both personally and working in the field where she has worked to help many individuals develop a better sense of self esteem and learn to look at the world more critically in terms of our relationships with ourselves and our bodies.
What to expect?
- NO requirement to participate. Although questions, comments and discussion is definitely encouraged. There will be a powerpoint presentation and handouts given.
-To learn about why we need to be talking more about how to engage in positive discussion around Health at Every Size and Body Acceptance.
-To learn about signs, symptoms and warning signs around when it is more than just "normal body thoughts".
-How to foster healthy and balanced ideals around food, weight and shape at home.
-Deconstructing some myths and misconceptions around health, body size and diet culture.
Who may benefit?
-Anyone?! (sorry that's my bias;)
-Individuals struggling with finding their own balance with their perception of self( struggling with changes in weight, pressures to look a certain way)
-Individuals in the helping profession that would like to learn about about developing positive relationships with our bodies (social workers, doctors, teachers etc)
-Individuals who have battled Anxiety, Depression or other Mental Health issues that have noticed a focus on their weight, shape and size.
-Parents who are looking to learn how to recognize warning signs, or help in supporting a loved one.
Cost is $25.00 per person. (I never want cost to be a barrier so please email if this is and we will sort something out)
